Let’s take about skin care. A lot would ask: How to keep our skin healthy and young-looking? And I think almost all dermatologist and skin care experts would agree that proper nutrition and skin care routine is necessary.
I had acne breakout back in 2003, and it took a while for me to get rid of them. My self-confidence was really low. And, even if I am past that breakout, I haven’t faced a full body mirror. I mean, I rarely look in the mirror. When I passed by a boutique with a wall mirror, I somehow felt dismayed. When I got home, I decided to really take a good look at myself in front of the mirror. I was in disbelief that my skin looks older than they are. I look older than I am.
There was even a time when I bumped into a co-parent and after few minutes of talking to her, she exclaimed that she thought we are of the same age. But I am in fact seven years younger than her.
I realized that stress and irresponsibility caused me losing that “beauty”… that “glow”. As it has been said, age is just a number but if its seen in your skin, then it’s a problem!
My skin has aged and even if I have a jar of anti-ageing cream. if I am not responsible enough to use it religiously, then nothing will really happen. Aside from the wrinkles and crow’s feet, there were tiny scars and pimples present. Not to mention the black and white heads that anyone would want to squeeze out. I have browsed for skin care products and tips on how to take care of it too. There are many ways to take care of our skin, I learned.
I have a really oily skin ever since and would always wash my face to get rid of the dirt and oil. I have read that there are 400 millions of bacteria in an oily skin! Bacteria in my face! Oh no!
Skin Care Needs
Nowadays, there are many innovative skin care tools and products we can use to really clean our skin. Innovations like these is really of great help, especially to moms like me. As we age, we really can’t help but feel and see it through the eyes or the skin. Products as such will help us not just take care of our skin but also improve our self confidence if not completely bring it back.
Here is your guide on how to properly clean your skin:
Cleanser
A facial cleanser is an essential skincare product used to remove pollutants from the skin which can include make-up, dead skin cells, oil, dirt. Doing so helps to keep pores clear and prevent skin conditions like acne.
Toner
A toner is meant to gently refresh your skin without stripping it of its natural moisture. It also prepares the skin to soak up post-cleansing moisturizers or any other skin treatments that one may apply later.
Serum
Facial serums gives the collagen on the skin a boost by helping to keep it firm to somehow fine out lines and wrinkles.
Eye Creams and Serums
Eye creams and serums contain targeted ingredients that address needs specific to the eye area. There are also serums for lashes that will help them grow healthy and pretty.
Spot Treatment
A spot treatment, as the name suggests, is a product that targets specific areas on your face to help address skin concerns including pimples, blemishes, dark spots, age spots, sun spots as well as uneven skin tone.
Moisturizer
Moisturizers primarily hydrate the surface layers of the skin. They seal the skin, locking in moisture and nutrients to prevent dryness.
Sunscreen
Sunscreens or sunblock or sun cream, is a topical product for the skin that mainly absorbs, or to a much lesser extent reflects, some of the sun’s ultraviolet (UV) radiation and thus helps protect against sunburn. It is the most important layer in your skincare regimen.
And, now that it’s summer here, it is also best to drink plenty of water and apply skin care products that will protect us from the harmful effects of UV rays. Age is something unavoidable, the best way to deal with it is to live it – cleanse, tone, moisturize, exfoliate, exercise – keep it young & healthy!
I tried that too while doing the post. LOL!
I feel you. Thanks!
I never tried using one, I just use skin wash for oily skin and the tried some facial scrub that claims to help stop excessive oil. =)

Yes, we gotta take care of our skin. The signs of skin aging shows up years later after the sleeping with make up, late nights out and poor diet. Your’re right, lots of water can really help.
