John Lennon

(9 October 1940 – 8 December 1980)

Became a member of The Quarrymen which then evolved into The Beatles in 1960. Lennon showed wit not just in music but also in film, in his drawings, writings and interviews. Married Yoko Ono in 1969, they had a son names Sean.

Mark David Chapman shot John Lennon back December 8, 1980 in front of the latter’s apartment in The Dakota. There wasn’t a funeral for John Lennon, he was cremated. Yoko Ono scattered his ashes in NY’s Central Park. The Strawberry Fields memorial was later created in that same place. As of 2011, it has been noted that Chapman has been denied parole for 6 times.

One of his quotes that I so like:

“As usual, there is a great woman behind every idiot.” – John Lennon

Pacquiao vs. Marquez 3 & a Blessing!

The world has long been waiting for this 3rd fight. They say that this will put an end to the battle between who is really better, Manny or Juan Manual? The Filipino or the Mexican?

A lot must have been wondering what the outcome would be and so as really excited to see the fight. As of now, the main fight has not started yet. I am but one of those who are in the look for live streaming and lucky to have found one…one I wouldn’t share. reasons behind is not being selfish but of course it is more of ethics. If I share it, I will definitely violate something…something I am not really sure even, so better not to. =) I know everyone understands that. Besides, if someone enters the words live streaming or the fighters’ names in Google, you’ll definitely find a lot. Thank you. The fight will be shown a little late at GMA 7 so there’ll be no Party Pilipinas today. For sure, here in the Philippines, there’ll be no traffic problems nor reported crimes as soon as the fight start.  =) That’s but one of the many good things every Pacquiao fight does to the Philippines. We are so hopeful he wins this fight. I am truly excited.

The blessing I am referring to is that a new contract started today. I got hired for another Pinterest job and  I am but thankful. I can now say that I am definitely enjoying being a freelancer and being hands-on-mom at the same time. Aside from the fact I earn online, I get to be with my kids. I still have to perfect managing my time though but I am slowly getting there. I am but so thankful!

4th runner up – Ms. China, Luo Zilin
3rd runner up – Ms. Philippines, Shamcey Supsup
2nd runner up – Ms. Brazil, Priscila Machado
1st runner up – Ms. Ukraine, Olesia Stefanko

I have searched numerous live stream sites to be able to watch this year’s most prestigious pageant. I am so happy to have found one. It was already the announcement of Top 5 when I got to this site but it is all worth it. The Philippine country is once again so proud that Ms. Philippines Shamcey Supsup made it big… BIG! She definitely is awesome.

She’s the only Ms. Universe 2011 finalist who didn’t have to answer with an interpreter. Here’s a transcript of her million dollar question:

Vivica Fox: Would you change your religious beliefs to marry the person you love? Why and why not?

Miss Philippines : “If I have to change my religious beliefs, I will not marry the person that I love because the first person that I love is God, who created me. And I have my faith and my principles, and this is what makes me who I am. And if that person loves me, should love my God, too.”

This has made her top 1 in the Q&A Fan Vote.

Congratulations for being the 3rd runner up!! I’m so proud to be a Filipino! Wooohooo!

Update:

Here’s what Oprah Winfrey said via NBC News
“I have reservations with the results. If the only basis is? the Q and A portion, after having been trimmed down to 5, Ms. Philippines deserved to win. What made her different from the rest is that she had no seconds to rethink of her answer as she had no interpreter to break the ice. The rest had their interpreters and having breaks on seconds to think about their answers. Hands down, Ms. Philippines answered straight to the point.”

Pacquiao vs. Marquez III

The 3rd face off has to happen thus will end the futile debate as to who really is better… Pacquiao or Marquez?

“Fear me!” – said by the WBO/WBA lightweight champion Juan Miguel Marquez. The Mexican is truly aware that he”s strong. Pacquiao eve

n admitted that Marquez is his hardest opponent. With that in mind, Manny is set and ready for a 10 weeks training instead of the regular 8 weeks training he did with his other fights. So he really has to put an effort huh?!

Marquez on the other hand, after their 2 controversial fights, became a lot more serious and determined to prove that he is rather, he should win and end this match. He”s gonna train hard too in preparation to their November 13 fight in Las Vegas, Nevada. There was a boxing analyst though that mentioned this is yet another mismatch and another one said that Manny will not beat El Dinamita but wreck him.

The so called “El Dinamita” (Manuel Marquez) was here in the Philippines ( went to US today)and last Saturday was memorable for the two fighters. It was their Philippine face off, to start their Pacquiao vs. Marquez 3 promo tour. A report confirmed about 200,000 people attended the said event. After the event, that”s where Manny Many Prizes was held. Manny, who hosts the said TV show signed and awarded a huge 1M check to a lucky contestant winner. The very busy & generous Manny Pacquiao manages to balance sports, hosting, singing, and writing. He now writes a regular sports column for Abante and Philboxing.com. It is one way to reach out to his fans and share his experiences and tips as a boxer.

November is just few weeks away and like many of us, I am hopeful that Manny will put an end to this match with a win. By then, we can maybe say that the fight is truly worth the wait. I am equally hopeful to win a blackberry phone too from a Facebook contest so I can be updated with each punch these 2 great boxers throw each other. LoL!

TP's Hall of Fame : Melbelline

She”s a 13 year old teenager from Guiginto, Bulacan. Melbelline performed Filipiniana repertoire all the way which gained her the 2nd Hall of Famer title in TV5 network”s Talentadong Pinoy search. She exude so much charm which is definitely a plus to

her awesome talent. She truly deserves to win. There were promising talents who tried to stop her winnings but I guess, being unique in a beautiful way has made her stand out. She”s defeated “Dancing is Fun” on their supposedly 6th win, a group of kids that can really make you sway your hips and hit the dance floor. I personally liked that young group too. Here”s Melbelline, all smiles and proud while holding her trophy. Congratulations!

Seussical: Anything's Possible

Seussical is based on the books of Dr. Seuss which started in Broadway year 2000. It”s a musical by Tony winners Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty. Now, Repertory Philippines presents Seussical Anything”s Possible on August 13, 2011 (7:30PM) at Onsta

This time, certain plot elements were simplified. The play centers on Horton the elephant who will face challenges like protecting her friend Jojo and the invisible Whos and at the same time guard and take care of an abandoned egg left by Mayzie La Bird. Despite ridicule, trials and all challenges, we will see how Gertrude McFuzz never loses faith in Horton. Catch up the fantastical, magical and musical performance as Bituin Escalante brings life to the story of how the powers of friendship, loyalty, family and community triumphs in a story that makes you laugh and cry.

Venue: OnStage- 2/F Greenbelt 1, Ayala Center, Makati City
Tel. No: 632 571 6926

I can still remember way back 2007 when Seussical also had a show at the Trinoma. Keanna was so attentive and was singing even after the show.
