(9 October 1940 – 8 December 1980)
Became a member of The Quarrymen which then evolved into The Beatles in 1960. Lennon showed wit not just in music but also in film, in his drawings, writings and interviews. Married Yoko Ono in 1969, they had a son names Sean.
Mark David Chapman shot John Lennon back December 8, 1980 in front of the latter’s apartment in The Dakota. There wasn’t a funeral for John Lennon, he was cremated. Yoko Ono scattered his ashes in NY’s Central Park. The Strawberry Fields memorial was later created in that same place. As of 2011, it has been noted that Chapman has been denied parole for 6 times.
One of his quotes that I so like:
“As usual, there is a great woman behind every idiot.” – John Lennon
Hmmm…you’d think one of the greatest songs was sung by someone who thinks like that…nevertheless, a great singer.
Read something about John Lennon in a book. The Beatles are amazing, practicing and playing about 12 hours daily, 8 hours of those actual play time. WOW.
As usual, there is a great woman behind every idiot – at least he is aware hehe..
love their songs, it transcends time and generations…
John Lennon made a great impact in music industry .He was well loved by fans all over the word and his love story with Yoko Ono was well followed during his days.I love all the Beattles song.
I remember reading an article about John Lennon. Goosebumps- really! It was said there John Lennon’s experience in hell. And he also pleaded to warn her girl to be very good. I don’t know how true that is.
Hahaha. I like what JL said, “As usual, there is a great woman behind every idiot.”
don’t know anything about JL except that he is popular, one of the beatles and lover of yoko ono.
He is one great singer who is a lost for the music industry.
He is really a lot of mystery for me, he is really a smart person
I always admire John Lennon…..he may be gone now but his legacy remains.
He looks so much more handsome without his glasses on.
RIP forever, John.
LOL on the woman behid the great idiot! 😀 The Beatles may have been great but their egos also floated too high.
It’s kinda quirky that his death was first announced at an American football (rugby if you’re still arguing about it) game. Lennon was a music icon. Everyone misses him so much.
My favorite. He will always be my Lennony! 🙂

My boyfriend is a BIG fan of John Lennon. He’s such a talented person and didn’t deserve to die the way he did. It figures though, extraordinary people usually die extraordinarily, too.
Always been a fan of Beatles. Their music is one of my favorites. Their songs made a mark in the history of music.
learned to love the Beatles through my dad. Lennon was included in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame after his death.
John Lennon! Love love the Beatles, they never grow old. 😀 Yoko Ono really hit an all time low in popularity back in the band’s heyday, hehe. Legends always live though, and Lennon.. wow, larger than life.
