“Children learn as they play.
Most importantly, in play children learn how to learn.”
– O. Fred Donaldson
My curious and playful gal.
Roey’s dressed up because she attended a children’s party. And played with our neighbor, her friend, Noel.
You have heard that “Laughter is the best medicine!” but did you ever wonder why?
You must have already found the answer from Google or from a medical book maybe.
Admittingly, since I have had dentures years back, I feel awkward when I smile. So, when I give a polite type of smile, I (most often than not) also let my eyes work – a wink, a smiling eyes or a quick raise of the eyebrows. But sometimes, I feel that I am not really giving it (smile and what it meant in whatever moment there is) 100%. I am haunted by that feeling for sometime, really! Especially when I became a Mom. My daughters would gladly smile at me with zero hesitation, or awkwardness at all. So, I had let go of that in-confidence and share my own different type of smiles. Well, yes, I have read that there were indeed different types of smile. I even found myself in front of the bathroom mirror smiling and counting! Ha! Ha!
You may find a lot more things a smile can do to yourself or to someone else but here is my top 5.
1. A SMILE is contagious.
2. “Every time you smile, it is an act of love – a gift …” ~Mother Teresa
3. We are all rich of smiles, be generous! A warm smile can touch and enrich the ones who receive it and it won’t cost you a thing.
4. A genuine smile is an asset! It attracts attention and promotion. It brings out an aura of confidence and positiveness which people find to be attractive.
5. Smiling is a stress-reliever! You are more relaxed when you smile. And because of its stress-relieving property, your immune system is strengthened and thus, smiling can actually prevent colds and reduce blood pressure.
So turn that frown upside down, Smile! Do something good to yourself and better things will happen to you!
Last May 6 was my Mama’s 70th birthday …could have been, I mean. I thought of scrapping to give tribute to her. Credits to Studio Flergs and LorieM for the paper and embellishments I used. Here was my FB post then…
Happy birthday MAMA!
I know, if you were only alive and with us today, you would have been so happy to celebrate your 70th year. I could have granted a great wish of yours or perhaps brought you to a place you’ve never been.
These will no longer happen, but in my heart, I know that you are in bliss! You are in a much happier place than in any place here on Earth and I could never surpass the greatest gift you have now – being with HIM. I LOVE YOU, MA! I am wishing on your behalf now, that somehow, you have never forgotten that, even if we’re no longer together. You know what? It makes me smile when I look at the mirror now and see our resemblance. I would not forget how we make fun and joke about our appearances when I was young and no matter how hard we pick flaws at each other – we end up agreeing we’re both petite and beautiful. There’s a lot more to reminisce Mama, and if it is possible there in heaven to get a free movie on your birthday, hope you’d pick to see our life together.
Remember the kidnapping attempt of a demented woman when I was 3? I am just sooooooo thankful & happy it didn’t succeed – I got to be with my remarkable MAMA. Again, just what I have told you years ago… I would never trade you! You are the BEST mother for me and your granddaughters. We LOVE you so much! Mwah!
And again, with all our hearts – Happy Mother’s Day too!
For me, as a Mother – you have got it all!
“A friend is someone whole reaches for your hand, but touches your heart.”
I have been inspired to try back my love for photography as soon as I got my Cherry mobile Flare phone. Together with my childhood friends, we visited a resort in Bulacan. The kids had so much fun especially Roey who got to play again with Miggy. Miggy is just almost a year older than her and the two get along pretty well. I hope that their friendship, just like their Moms’ last a lifetime.
Last February, we have welcomed the image of the Blessed Virgin Mary at home. We have offered our prayers and lifted up to her our heart’s desires. A week of praying the rosary truly lifted our spirits. I am but glad that my daughters, at their young age, willingly prayed the rosary with me. My elder daughter even invited some friends to pray with us. Having the Blessed Virgin Mary’s image at home brought back a lot of memories to me. I have once been a member of Block Rosary and Legion of Mary back my High School days. I was very active during my sophomore and junior year in fact. My childhood friends and I would always pray and join the Block Rosary prayer brigade.
“Block Rosary is a Mother’s call to her children. Block Rosary is designed in Heaven and brought to earth by the Mother of God. Block Rosary neighbors PRAY together; Block Rosary Neighbors STAY together.”

With this, it gave me a feeling of wanting to have both my kids be as active as I was at church before. It wouldn’t just bring them closer to Him but also would definitely bring out the best in them. Most parents would agree with me in that fact for sure.
This really calls for the Stef that was… thanks for the Blessed Virgin Mary’s visit and I hope it won’t be the last.
When I was little, you’ll find me doodling and reading more than I am in front of the computer now. Besides the fact that I love drawing, we did not really have a computer yet then. Ha! Ha!
Kidding aside, here are some words to inspire us this time of the year. I know for a fact that a lot of us are on “vacation” right now, enjoying. But there are still a lot of us too, that is taking the time to do a little soul searching and some others repent their sins in many simple and complex ways they can. but however we spend our Holy Week, these words would sure remind us of something about us and much more, about life.
Humility, bravery, love, trust, family values, peace, friendship and positivism are just some of what we, as humans, should really incorporate within ourselves. It may be a little hard but with open-mindedness and HIS guidance, we will be who we want to be and should be, we will get to where we belong and we should be – slowly but surely.

Are you a customer service representative?
If you are, did you go through a thorough training to be a GREAT CSR?
You may be puzzled as to why bother be great when you can still be the CSR that you are. At the same time, you must have been made aware of the differences in each customer – needs, demands, attitude and status. You maybe right, that you don’t have to be well trained to be a great Customer Service Representative. Why do I say so? Simply because servicing a customer is just like lessons in life – you learn it by experience!
But perhaps, keeping in mind these 20 great customer service replies would help you to be an outstanding CSR.
Another tip I have for you is that never give false hope. It is really okay to tell a customer if you can’t do or can no longer do anything to resolve an issue or a situation, just as long as you tried and was honest. And one more thing, these replies are nothing unless delivered properly and in the right tone. Remember, it is not what you say, it is how you say it.

Annebisyosa, No Other Concert was held very recently. It was a hit and I am not surprised. It was also just recently when Tony Award–winning actress and singer Lea Salonga was questioned about her “strong opinions about off-key singers” and if she was referring to Anne Curtis. It was denied by Lea, said that Anne didn’t identify herself as a singer and just made her dream concert come true so she ( Lea Salonga ) can’t be angry at Anne. In fact, Lea Salonga said she’s happy for Anne has made her dream a reality.
I feel personally happy for Anne as well, everyone who attended the concert went home happy with a smile in their faces. I should have saved and watched it too. I believe with what Lea said, that she did not really diss Anne Curtis. Let us just be happy for them both. I even think Lea Salonga is referring to someone big time. Don’t you?
She wowed the world with her golden voice. The singer even proved a lot with her movie The Bodyguard. Whitney Houston said to have died at age 48, as per Associated Press. The cause and death of the singer has not been revealed yet but the music industry is very much saddened by lsoing yet another awesome singer – performer.
It was Kristin Foster, Whitney Houston ‘s publicist informed the AP about the singer /actress’ passing. It has been well known though that in recent years, the singer struggled with drug abuse.
Whitney Houston is known to be the Golden Girl of the music industry. Her self titled debut album which was released year 1985 was said to have sold 25M copies worldwide. She even earned 30 Billboard awards. She is definitely golden, right? Beyond that golden voice and singing talent, she’s also made a mark in her acting career with her movies “Waiting To Exhale” and “The Bodyguard”. It was said too that Whitney has influenced a lot of singers like Christina Aguilera and Mariah Carey. In one of her interviews with Oprah, Whitney Houston mentioned that using drugs became an everyday thing like work for her but wasn’t happy and she started losing herself already.
It was also recent when I have read that Whitney was asked to join The X Factor as a judge along with Simon Cowell and L.A. Reid. That will not happen anymore. Even so, Whitney has already made an unforgettable mark. I will personally always remember her with her movie The Bodyguard and song “I Will Always Love You”. The song, just so you’d know, became the best-selling single by a female artist in music history. She’s definitely talented. Farewell Whitney.
